Concept Development: Creating initial sketches and concepts for new vehicle designs.

CAD Modeling: Using computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed 3D models of vehicles.

Collaboration: Working closely with engineers, marketers, and other designers to ensure the design meets technical specifications and market demands.

Iteration: Refining and modifying designs based on feedback and testing results.

 

Eligibility

 

Education Route to Become a Car Designer in India

  • 10 + 2 with  Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics 
  • Bachelor of Design (B.Des) in Transportation/Automobile Design/ Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) With a specialization in industrial design/ Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) / Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Automobile Engineering
  • Master of Design (M.Des) in Transportation/Automobile Design/ Master of Fine Arts (MFA) With a focus on industrial or transportation design/ Master of Engineering (M.E) / Master of Technology (M.Tech) in Automotive Engineering

 

Entrance Exams:

  • NID Entrance Exam: For admission to NID.
  • UCEED (Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design): For admission to design courses in IITs and other participating institutes.
  • Institution-Specific Exams: Some institutes like MIT and DYPDC have their own entrance exams. 
  • CEED (Common Entrance Examination for Design): For admission to postgraduate design courses in IITs and other participating institutes.
