  • Dispute Resolution: Mediate and resolve disputes between employers and employees.
  • Inspections: Conduct inspections of workplaces to ensure adherence to labor laws and safety standards.
  • Advisory Role: Advise employers and employees on labor laws and regulations.
  • Policy Implementation: Implement labor policies and welfare schemes initiated by the government.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct research on labor issues and provide recommendations for policy formulation.
  • Training and Capacity Building: Organize training programs for employers, employees, and other stakeholders on labor laws and welfare schemes.

Eligibility


Educational Route to Join Central Labour Services

  • 10+2 in humanities or commerce stream
  • B.A. in Social Work or labor relations/ B.A. in Human Resource Management/ LLB (Bachelor of Laws)
  • M.A. in Social Work or industrial relations/ M.A. in Human Resource Management/LLM in Labor Law

 

Competitive Examination Clear the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination for recruitment into Central Labour Services. The examination consists of a written test and an interview.

  • UPSC Civil Services Examination Includes papers on general studies, aptitude, and optional subjects relevant to labor issues.

 

Training  After selection, undergo training for foundation course at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie, followed by specialized training at the V.V. Giri National Labour Institute in Noida.
