Employing a minimum of one Database Administrator (DBA) is necessary to guarantee that applications have continuous, uninterrupted access to data. Therefore, there is a larger requirement than ever for DBA nowadays. 

Data has become the new jewel in this age of applications and social media because information is so easily accessible. The data must be protected by organisations. There could be different types of Database Administrators. The most common type of DBA is the general-purpose DBA.

Performance, integrity, and security of a database will be the major duty as a database administrator (DBA). DBA will participate in the database's planning and development as well as any user-related problem-solving.

DBA's daily routine may include understanding user needs and setting up databases with appropriate disk space, network requirements, and memory. DBA's may spend their days using software tools to organize and store company records, user information, and other data.

In large organizations, DBA responsibilities are typically divided into different jobs. The primary types of DBA, other than general-purpose, include system DBA, database architect, database analyst, application DBA, task-oriented DBA, performance analyst, data warehouse administrator, and cloud DBA.

The role includes Identifying user requirements and keeping an eye on user access and security, Tracking performance and controlling variables to give front-end users quick responses, When laying up the conceptual design for a projected database, taking into account both the front-end user interface and the back-end data organisation, the database management system (DBMS) installation and testing, keeping up with data standards such as observing the Data Protection Act, Producing database documentation that includes data standards, protocols, and definitions for the data dictionary (metadata), managing rights and access restrictions, creating, managing, and testing backup and recovery strategies, make ensuring that storage and archiving processes are operating properly and perform capacity planning.

 B. Sc / B. Tech in Computer Science/ Information Technology / Information System Engineering/ Software engineering
 M. Sc/ M. Tech in Data Science/ CS/ IT/ IS or similar
Route 210 + 2 ant stream with maths and computer science
 BBA Information Systems Management/ B. Com Information Technology/ BCA
 MBA in Information Systems Management/ Information Technology
