Role Desciption

 

  • Policy Formulation: Assist in drafting and implementing policies related to corporate governance, mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate activities.
  • Adjudication: Act as adjudicating officers in cases of violations of corporate laws and regulations.
  • Inspection and Investigation: Conduct inspections and investigations of companies to detect fraud, malpractices, and non-compliance.
  • Advisory Role: Provide legal and regulatory advice to the Ministry of Corporate Affairs and other government bodies.
  • Company Law Board/Tribunal: Represent the government in legal proceedings before the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) and the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT).
  • Corporate Governance: Promote and enforce best practices in corporate governance.
  • Capacity Building: Conduct training and capacity-building programs for stakeholders in the corporate sector.
  • Regulatory Oversight: Monitor and regulate corporate entities to ensure compliance with the Companies Act and other related laws.
     

 

Eligibility


Educational Route to Join Indian Corporate Law Services

  • 10+2 in commerce or humanities stream
  • BA/ B.Sc + LLB (Bachelor of Laws)
  • Master’s degree- LLM in Corporate Law

 

Competitive Examination Clear the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination (CSE), which includes three stages: Preliminary Examination, Main Examination, and Interview.

 

Training After selection, undergo training at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie, followed by specialized training at the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) in Manesar.
