Tourism professionals are liable for providing the most comfortable, enjoyable, exciting, and fun filled travel experience to its clients. Tourism professionals need to be well versed with the geography of not only of their own country but also that of the whole world. A well travelled individual or an individual who is passionate about travelling is an appropriate and preferred candidate for tourism industry. 

 

Role Desciption

 

Offering services for traveling for business or leisure purpose, creating tour packages as per the customer’s need, providing guidance on best packages, arranging all the services related to travel at best costs, providing destination guidance and selling of tour packages are some of the main responsibilities of a tourism professional. These professionals specialize in wide range of tours including; trip to museums, historical monuments, corporate houses and industries, amusement parks, theme parks, and so on. They need to be well informed about the tourist places of attention, and specialty of different areas. Also tourism professionals should have excellent communication skills. Preparing appropriate customized itineraries for the tourists and providing guidance to the clients is another significant liability of these professionals. They usually have tie-ups with hotels, restaurants, and commutation agents to guide the tourists. Also in case of clients looking for international travels, the tourism professionals should be able to provide them visa guidance and documents list to fulfill visa formalities.   

 

Eligibility

 

Route 110 + 2 in any stream
 B.A. Tourism Administration/ Bachelor in Travel and Tourism Management/ BBA-Tourism/ Travel and Tourism 
Route 210 + 2 in any stream
 Diploma/Certificate course for 1-2 years

  • 10 + 2 is mandatory for Certificate courses and Bachelors
  • Bachelors with minimum 50% to pursue Masters
  • Entrance Tests in majority of the colleges
