Anthropology is the study of human beings and different aspects related to human experience considering the past and present. It is the branch of science through which professionals study the origin, development, characteristics and beliefs of human beings. Anthropology is divided into many some fields like archaeology, biological, cultural and linguistic anthropology.
Role Desciption
Professionals in this field are responsible for planning and directing research for categorization and comparison between economic, demographic, healthcare, political, social, religious and linguistic distinction of cultural groups, communities and organizations. They work towards formulating general rules to describe and predict the cultural and social institutional behavior, explaining origins and development of human beings, developing intervention procedures by utilizing techniques like interviews, consultations and social interactions. Their job duties also include collaborating with economic development planners, building GIS so for recording, analyzing and representing the distribution of languages and natural resources.

Route to Anthropology Profession
- 10 + 2 in Science/ Humanities/ Any Stream
- B.Sc. Anthropology / B.A. (H) Anthropology/ Bachelor Degree in History/Anthropology and/or related fields such as Sociology/ Psychology, etc
- M.Sc. /M.A in Anthropology/Master’s Degree in Anthropology
