
Dairy Technology
Dairy Technology is all about administering the techniques of handling milk from processing, packaging, storing, transporting, and physical distribution and consumption. Based on the sciences of Biochemistry, Bacteriology, and Nutrition, Dairy Technology intends to prevent decomposition, promote quality, extend shelf-life, and make milk tasty and safe for human consumption. Dairy Farming has evolved into a vast organized industry that comprises not only improved production of milk and milk products, but also the breeding of higher-yielding cattle, and the systematic rearing of cattle and the creation of cattle feeds.
Role Desciption
Dairy Technologists work towards generating value-added dairy products, maintaining a clean and hygienic atmosphere, performing the tasks of obtaining milk and starting, running, sealing down, and disinfection of the dryer/evaporator and other associated equipment. They are responsible for performing required laboratory and all the necessary quality checks, accurately maintaining the required logs and performing all the tasks and chemical tests in a timely and accurate manner. They are continuously involved in attending the required training related to Safety, GMP, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), and other food standards. Maintaining safe functioning conditions for employees and compliance with all national regulations concerning health and safety issues, following all the good manufacturing practices and DFA while accomplishing all the corporate regulations, food safety, and quality requirements, adhering to all the set quality, safety and production policies and procedures and notifying for any non-conformity are also significant areas of their work.

Significant Statistics
- Mathematics and English are compulsory in 10+2 for admission to some colleges
- At least 50% in 10+2 with English subject
- For admission to B. Tech program age limit is fixed at 17
years
