The branch of science that is concerned with the study of living organisms is called Biology. Biologists are responsible for investigating the function, structure, development, distribution, and evolution of organisms and they assist in generating awareness about the natural world we live in, and providing basis for many disciplines like medicine, genetics, and biotech.

Professionals in this field identify report and observe organisms and environment. They conduct research on significant processes and perform experiments through scientific methods. They also prepare, present and publish reports. Performing field works and laboratory experiments is also a part of their job. Also, they develop new drugs or treatments, and observe the effects of these treatments on human beings.

Route to Biology Profession

• 10 + 2 with Science Stream with Biology
• B.Sc. Biological Sciences or Life Sciences or Environmental Sciences or Bachelors in any other related fields for 3 years
• M.Sc. Bio-Sciences or M.Sc. in Life Sciences for 2 years/ Diploma/PG Diploma in Bio-Sciences or Life Sciences for 1 year
