The study, analyses and eradication of harmful effects of human behavior on environment is called environmental engineering. The individuals who are well qualified and trained in this field are called Environmental Engineers and their role is to find out solutions for the problems and challenges arising out of issues concerning pollution and public health. Environmental Engineers mainly work around three concepts; waste management and removal, retrieval of ruined land and control of impurities. These professionals are also responsible for studying the effects of technological developments on environment. Considering the growing awareness among national and international authorities for environment protection, the career prospects seem bright and lucrative for Environmental Engineers.

Role Desciption

 

Environmental Engineers monitor the plan or design the systems, processes, or equipment for controlling, managing, or remediation of quality of the water, air, or soil. They also align with Environmental Scientists, Harmful Waste Technicians, or other specialists to counteract the environmental issues. Environmental Engineers also provide technical support for environmental improvement projects like remediation system designing. These Engineers also prepare harmful waste processes or restrictions related to disposal notifications. Estimating the environmental effect of projects on air, land and water is also one of their KRAs. They also help in estimating the budget for environment protection, prediction for future and administering the entire process of environment protection.

 B. Tech in Environmental Engineering for 4 years, 
 
  M. Tech for 2 years
 PhD 
Route 210+2 with Science Stream with Maths
 B. Tech + M.Tech (Dual Degree)in Environmental Engineering for 5 years

 

Significant Statistics

 

  • Minimum 50% in 10+2 for admission to most colleges while it is 60% in some other colleges
  • Minimum 50% in English language in 10+2
  • JEE score as minimum eligibility in some colleges
  • Age limit is fixed in some colleges and universities
