Occupational Therapy is linked to health and focuses on people with physical or emotional disabilities or diseases to reach the highest degree of independence and well being in daily life. In short, occupational therapy is a process of supporting people with disabilities and promoting freedom on all the sides by carrying out tasks such as play, work, leisure, etc. Professionals working in this field are called Occupational Therapists (OTs).

 

Role Desciption

 

Occupational Therapists assess, plan, compose, and take interest in rehabilitative projects. They also assist in building or re-establishing vocational, homemaking, and daily living aptitudes, and also provide general freedom. They support patients in day-to day activities such as feeding themselves, planning for work without assistance, using public transportation, and to get engaged in schools. 

 

Eligibility

 

  • 10 + 2 in Science Stream with Biology
  • Bachelor in Occupational Therapy for 4.5 years (4 years study + 6 months internship)      
  • Masters in Occupational Therapy for 2-3 years
  • Doctorate in Occupational Therapy for 2 years

 

Significant Statistics

 

  • Minimum 50% or 60% in 10+2 to get admission in most of the colleges
  • Minimum 50% in the English subject are required
  • Age limit is fixed at 17 years for admission to UG programs colleges
