Role Desciption
Sociologists are responsible for formulating publications and reports of research findings. Analyzing and interpreting data to get a deep knowledge about human social behavior, planning and conducting research for developing and testing theories about societies and collecting data about the values and behavior of various communities are their main job roles. Along with that they are responsible for consulting and advising individuals, designing approaches to provide solutions to the group problems and developing procedures to intervene into the problems by taking interviews, counseling or conducting interactive sessions.

- 10 + 2 in Humanities stream (sociology (optional) as one of the subjects)/ Science
- BA(H) Sociology for 3 years/ B.Sc Medical Sociology for 3 years/Bachelors in Sociology for 3 years
- Masters in sociology for 1-2 years/M.Sc Sociology for 2 years
- Ph.D in Sociology

- For post graduation most of the institutes accept any bachelors’ degree or related to the subjects of sociology
- Ph.D or NET is mandatory for lectureship
